Each of our volunteer groups/stations require a Lead Volunteer to work directly with the Volunteer Coordinator, train other volunteers and manage any unforeseen situations that could arise throughout the day. Below is a list of the lead roles and shift times.

6:00am - 10:30am

This position requires volunteers who are comfortable interacting with riders and in some cases, solving problems. Main responsibilities include registering walk-up participants, upgrading/downgrading participants to alternate ride distances, converting non-VIP riders to VIP riders, and handing out ride kits left at will call for those who registered late. Use of a credit/debit card terminal will be required.


6:00am - 10:30am

Help guide participants upon arrival to their next destination. Point out key locations such as the Registration Tent and Washrooms and answer Frequently Asked Questions like “How do I update to VIP status?” This position is perfect for energetic and personable people.


6:00am - 11:00am

Work with the Epic Tour Operations Team to ensure our riders are fueled for their ride by ensuring fruit, yogurt, bagels and coffee are readily available. Set-up and dismantling duties as assigned.

Photography may be a passion of yours or maybe you are looking to expand your portfolio. We are looking for volunteers with their own equipment and vehicle to assist the lead photographer in capturing action and candid shots along the course and in the festival area.


7:30am - 11:30am

Direct and support vendors as they set-up their retail tents in the festival area. Work with the Epic Tour Operations team to ensure resources are available to vendors and that unforeseen situations are dealt with effectively and professionally. This position requires an individual who is customer service oriented, can effectively deal with complaints from vendors and who problem solve on the fly.


7:00am - 10:30am

Help riders get ready for their ride by answering Frequently Asked Questions, helping them find various locations within the start corral area, and by securing their personal items at the bag check station. You will be required to ensure bags are tagged and checked efficiently and are supervised at the start corral and later at festival re-entry point.


10:30am - 4:30pm

This is a paid position and requires SMART Serve certification and a short phone interview with the Volunteer Coordinator. Help our sponsor set-up the beer tent area and serve up a well-deserved cold one to riders throughout the day.


10:30am - 4:00pm

The retail tent is one of the busiest hubs in the festival area. Riders and family members will visit you when they’re looking to purchase food, beer or merchandise, if they have questions about the afternoon’s festivities, or if they’re looking for a lost personal item. This role requires personable volunteers who are comfortable using a credit/debit card terminal.


11:00am - 3:00pm

Welcome riders back to the festival area where they can enjoy a BBQ lunch and entertainment. Help direct foot/rider traffic at the finish line and guide participants to various locations within the festival area such as the bike valet, beer tent, washrooms, etc. Offer them a wet wipe to prepare for lunch.


11:00am - 4:00pm

Be right in the middle of the finish line festival! Cut off participant’s food redemption bracelets and exchange them for a food and beer ticket. The riders will be very happy to see you!


11:00am - 5:00pm

Prepare the bike valet area. Handle bikes with the utmost of care for check-in and check-out. Ensure bikes are placed in an organized sequence and are released to their rightful owner.


12:00pm - 3:00pm

Perfect for a young sports team! Cheer riders on as they enter the festival area. Bring your noise makers for added fun.


11:00am - 5:00pm

If you’re a good problem solver and like a variety of activities, this role’s for you! You’ll have the opportunity to do different tasks, meet lots of people and keep the operations running smoothly throughout the day. You may be asked to assist the Epic Tour Management team and/or fill in for your fellow volunteers when it’s time for their break.

We are looking for enthusiastic people to ensure riders are kept safe and are guided in the right direction. Marshalls will be required to help riders cross intersections safely and to occasionally sweep their area to ensure smooth and safe surfaces. Some Marshalls may be required to interact with Halton police. This is a paid position and requires an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and have their own vehicle.

To ensure riders are safe and able to finish the ride without significant issues to their health or equipment, a communications system is in place to dispatch help to riders if they find themselves in trouble. Your role as a Communication Tent volunteer will be to manage three (3) rider help lines. You will be briefed on frequently occurring scenarios and trained on how to manage them and the rider on the other side of the phone.


Volunteers assist with setting up and decorating the rest stop, preparing food, and tearing down the rest stop at the end of the day. This role is perfect for those who would like to be at the front lines engaging with riders as they enjoy a much needed break.Rest Stop Locations and Shifts

4:30pm - 6:30pm

Add this shift to your afternoon shift to collect more volunteer hours for school! Assist with dismantling tables, chairs and signage, packing up equipment and supplies, and ensuring the festival grounds are left clean and tidy.
